The amnesiac woman in question is actually a member of the gang who's hunting her. This is because when she had her full memory, she becomes fed up with their way of life and decides to quit, leading to a brief scuffle that allows her to make a run for it. Along the way, she trips over a piece of metal and gets knocked out, causing her amnesia.
