    Before breaking the WNBA's single-season assist record Friday night, Caitlin Clark was called for her sixth technical foul of the year.

    It came in the opening minutes when she knocked Las Vegas guard Tiffany Hayes to the hardwood while defending. When Clark heard the whistle, she slammed her hands on one of the basket supports, which made it a technical foul.

    With six technical fouls on the year, Clark is just one away from a suspension.

    Only 6. As little as I have watched her games, I count 3 times that, but of course, many got ignored.

    Clark criticized the referees for calling the foul on her record-breaking night in a postgame press conference. Clark admitted she has tried to appeal past technical fouls, but the league hasn't granted her any exceptions.

    Clark also questioned the validity of previous technical fouls called against her by WNBA referees this year. She specifically pointed to her most recent technical against the Minnesota Lynx Sept. 6 and another where she was called for slapping the basket support. 

    So, is Caitlin Clark too important to abide by the rules?

    Clark has not only been frustrated by the fouls called on her lately. She also took issue with a hit that knocked her to the floor in a recent game that was not called a foul in the Fever's 99-88 loss to Minnesota Sept. 6. 

     

    Clark got knocked to the floor by Minnesota's Napheesa Collier. Collier's arms appeared to hit Clark in the head and shoulder area when Clark tried to score in the paint. 

    Caitlin Clark ran into her and she wanted a foul for Napheesa Collier on that?!

    They can't be serious with this rebranding. The whole thing reeks of chest pounding. This is not the time for this, especially since a) they are still coming off a season where they went from 8-3 to missing the playoffs, and b) they just lost their first game of the season. Bad move on the Jags' part.

    I'm against the rebranding because... think about it. A player who hasn't been there as long as some others with the same (or better) talent, well...something doesn't seem right. I'm a fan of the Jags, but this is just a bad move.

    The officers in question were definitely messing with him!

    Tyreek Hill did nothing to justify being pulled out of his car like some animal!

    I've read about him in other articles. I've seen his picture. I've seen stills from body cam footage. Danny Torres definitely mishandled the situation. I get the viber that he has some deep seeded racism in his heart.

    Bigotry strikes again in New England. Seriously, this transphobic nonsense really needs to stop. And of course, Riley Gaines is using this to spread her hate. Seriously, James Earl Jones is gone, yet Riley Gaines isn't? Blech. But yeah, this transphobia really needs to stop.

    They want to forfeit, let them. But let it be for the entire season. there should be consequences for transphobia.

    Kathy Bates Says She Will Retire After "Matlock"

    Part of me believes that how Matlock does will determine whether or not Kathy Bates calls it a career or not. When I read this, I thought about Steve Martin, who said the same regarding his career--he'll retire once Only Murders in the Building ends, and that show is lasting long. Brad Dourif said the same thing, he's retired except for playing Chucky, and Jim Carrey will only continue the Sonic movies. I think if the Matlock reboot fails and gets cancelled early, I can see Kathy Bates doing just a bit more and then she retires. But if this show succeeds and lasts about three seasons at least, then I can see her retiring after this show.

    So it could be said to help make it last?
