The daughter character was a spoiled brat for most of the movie, and I do wish its mystery element was leaned into more. Still, I watched it for Natalie Brown. This happens to be her second Tubi movie following Twisted Neighbor. It'd be fun to see her as a Tubi villainess in the future.
So we finally get a new MarVista movie from Lifetime, and it's just a complete mess! Never has an LT movie made me despise a main character so hard like Shannon. She had every opportunity to come clean about being scammed, and she didn't. She just kept on enabling the drama, thinking she could handle it by herself. Even budding Lifetimeverse star Katelin Chesna couldn't make this movie interesting.
I'm sorry, but this movie disappointed me on so many levels. The Serena Harris character should've been Gina Vitori's chance to shine as a Lifetime villainess. Instead the entire movie was a typical by-the-numbers thing. It especially should've done more with its cult subplot.
