An up-and-coming wrestler (Allie DeBerry) competes in a women's wrestling promotion co-owned and run by her father (Adam "Edge" Copeland) and his second wife (Beth "Phoenix" Copeland), both retired wrestlers. Allie is set to receive a major push, which would begin with a marquee match against the promotion's top heel--who is actually Allie's real-life best friend (Cristine Prosperi). However, she is interrupted by a mysterious masked villainess who introduced herself as "The Dark Queen," with Cristine found knocked out while the Queen ominously warns Allie to leave the wrestling business. Cristine is unable to identify her attacker, leaving Allie to figure out who could be the culprit. Suspicion is centered towards her maternal aunt (Jessalyn Gilsig), as she became jaded towards the wrestling business following the shocking death of her sister, Allie's mother (Trish Stratus), 15 years prior. However, Jessalyn is knocked out from behind by the Queen, who suddenly unmasks herself and is revealed as Beth.
While seated in front of a mirror, Beth talks to her reflection and reveals her past as Trish's tag team partner, but due to jealousy over Trish being the more popular half of the duo, Beth turned heel and poisoned Trish to get not only the spotlight, but everything else she had, including Trish's family. Beth also vents about having to act like a mother to Allie, claiming that she was just like her mother, and she gave a maniacal cackle as she vowed to destroy Allie, who is unaware of Beth's heel turn and the fact that it has gone beyond the realm of wrestling and has driven her stepmother to outright madness.
Additional cast includes Jacqueline Scislowski and Camille Hyde as fellow wrestlers and friends of Allie, Amy "Lita" Dumas as a retired wrestler with ties to both Trish and Beth, Kate Drummond and Cameron Mathison as no-nonsense but competent detectives, and a cameo appearance from Debrah "Madusa" Miceli as a woman from Beth's past.
Distributors: WWE Films and Reel One Entertainment
EPs: Beth and Adam Copeland
Writer: John Doolan
Director: Lindsay Hartley
NOTE: I actually created this pitch last year on Reddit, but decided to post it here as a birthday tribute to Beth Phoenix.

I think that this is quite a sound idea, but why not add a twist.
I'm open to ideas; what would the twist be?
